I was so exhausted on Thursday night that, by the time I got home from work, the only thing I wanted to do was sit on the couch. Not even do anything, just sit. Perhaps adding an extra night of BJJ and re-starting lifting in the same week was not a good idea…
Short warmup, then we partnered up for some standup work — armdrag to grabbing the single. No takedown, just grab it. Lots of switching partners. At one point I ended up with one of the two new Marine wrestlers. His first two reps had me skidding into the mat as he pulled hard and flung, which not at all what we were trying to accomplish. After the second, I stood back up and said, “Dude, I weigh 120 lbs — calm down!” He eased up a tiny bit (at least I wasn’t eating the floor after every rep) but he was still very much in Hard mode.
Drilled a couple of armbars from side control. Stupid easy detail: if their elbow isn’t pointing the way you need it to… then move their elbow. Oh. Duh.
Then a couple of rolls to finish off.
